P                 First Monday Weekend Trade Days – See 2022 dates below. Est. Monthly Attendance: 7,500; Jackson County Courthouse Square, Scottsboro, AL. One of the Deep South’s oldest and largest trade days where bartering, haggling, and swapping of goods has not passed on with time. It is a true blend of antique shows, craft fairs, and rummage sales. Believed to have begun in the mid-1850’s, where merchants plied their wares around the Court House in downtown Scottsboro.  Admission: Free.

MARCH

 P           Big Bass Splash – June 9,10,11 at Goose Pond Colony in Scottsboro.  Join hundreds of Amateur Anglers from kids to adults as they fish   for  the chance at $250,000 in cash and prizes.  An Outdoor EXPO with food, fishing items, and entertainment available throughout the weekend.  P                  Siege of Bridgeport Re-enactment – To be confirmed, normally celebrated late March to early April.  The undisputed largest re-enactment in Alabama. Bridgeport brings history alive when almost 2,000 re-enactors thrill thousands of curious visitors and history buffs with their authentic re-creation of this fateful battle of the Civil War. APRIL

       Storytelling Festival - (Pisgah) - April 13-15, 2023.

 

           

P                 Off Broadway Plays presented by the Theatre Department of Northeast Alabama Community College – For 2 weekends from April 27-April 30 &  May 4 - May 7. A spring play or musical is just another benefit of having the creative talent and facilities of the Tom Bevill Lyceum at Northeast Alabama Community College.     Admission: $8.00. MAY

P                 Native American Festival – May 5th, & 6th. One of the earliest known habitations of Native Americans and Alabama’s only National Monument Russell Cave near Bridgeport, AL hosts their annual Native American Festival from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day. Bring your lawn chair or blanket for the storytelling and dancing. Other demonstrations of early living and arts include: pottery making, Cherokee encampment, flute music, archery, flint napping, woodcarving, and many other activities for all ages. P                 Walking Tours of Scottsboro – Every Saturday beginning May 6th and ending May 13th in downtown Scottsboro, AL. A traditional State event that allows visitors and history buffs to explore participating communities historical homes & areas.  Starts at 10 a.m. at the Scottsboro-Jackson Heritage Center and is led by a different community leader each week. P                  Jackson County Spring Carnival - May 16-22, 2023 in Scottsboro. A Spring Carnival with Midway Attraction Rides, Games and Entertainment

 

P                 Annual Catfish Festival – Held May 20 at Jackson County Park in Scottsboro.  A great hometown festival will include a catfish tournament for the adults, catfish rodeo for kids, arts & crafts show, Car Show, Free Concerts.  Admission. For Info:   Vickie Hastings 256-574-4305.

 

P                 35th Annual Gerhart Chamber Music Festival (Gorham's Bluff, Pisgah) - May 10-19

             

 

P                 Stevenson Depot Days  – May 20 and 21. Downtown Stevenson, Alabama & Stevenson City Park – Est. attendance: 15,000. An old-fashioned festival that celebrates its railway heritage with parades, ice crème social, pioneer breakfast, a street dance, story telling, clogging, museum tours, and other period entertainment.  The festival also features the Pro Lawnmower Racing, Alabama Bug Jam, Free concerts and much, much more. JUNE

P                 Alabama Ballet Summer Residency – July 25-1 August at Pisgah

 

P                Annual Summer Latino Festival – July 10th – On the lawn at Northeast Alabama Community College and Tom Bevill Lyceum from 12 a.m. till 4 p.m., Powell, AL – Featuring Live Entertainment, Arts & Crafts, Soccer Skills contest, numerous children’s activities, delicious Latino food, free soft drinks & ice crème, piñatas, and much, much more. JULY

P                 4th of July on the Tennessee River – At Goose Pond Colony, Scottsboro, AL – Music, Entertainment, Huge Boat Parade, Food, and of course the BIG Fireworks Show at the Amphitheater beginning at 6:00 p.m. – Free Admission. P                 Section Labor Day Festival – September 4  in Section

 

P                 Jackson County Fair – August 25 -29 in Scottsboro.

 

P                 9th Annual Bridgeport Jubilee – September 25th – 9:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m.  Downtown Bridgeport near Soulard Square and the historic depot and museum. Join in the entire day of family fun as Bridgeport celebrates its present to help preserve its historical past. Be a part of the patriotic decorated bike and tricycle parade at 1:30. You might be a winner.  There will be musical entertainment throughout the day including blue grass, gospel and local pickers and singers. Also food vendors, silent auction, arts & crafts, bingo, antique car show, motorcycle show, children’s games, and historical storytelling with re-enactors.
